Lent

Happy 1st Friday of Lent!

  What a wonderful season in our Church we have entered. Though this is a time of prayer and fasting and much self sacrificing, we can also look at Lent as a joyous time. Fasting from things that lead us to sin and being stripped of our selfishness, pride, vanity, ect... will bring joy into our lives. For we have recognized the vices and use this time to ask God to heal those areas. No longer are we living in the dark, but we are living in the light and walking in God's will. What could be more joyous than that? So rather than looking at fasting with an attitude of "man I have to give up_____ for 40 days! ," look at it as a time to grow deeper with our Savor!

  At Lumen for .5 seconds we thought about giving up Cuban Coffee, but who are we kidding? Instead we are praying about what God wants us to do as a company during these next 40 days! 

  Today we had an office packed with volunteers and meetings. We are jazzing up our website for the Spiritual Adoption! So far we have 409 babies Spiritually Adopted! Please continue to tell your family and friends! Our goal is to get 1,370,000.00 adopted. Please don't hesitate to ask anyone!

Congratulations

   We are very excited to announce David and Michael Oliveros have won Best Editing and Best Story at Campus Film Fest at University of North Florida.  They won 2/3 categories at the film festival this past weekend. Their movie is called Back. Back is about a man who travels back in time to save his brother from imminent death.

   David and Michael have been part of Lumen Crew for the last 4 years by partaking in the Film Camps and volunteering their time on a weekly basis. Michael and David are great men of God and are extremely talented. Please take time to view their video. Once again CONGRATULATIONS DAVID & MICHAEL! ~ Brian, Carlos, and Nicol

Happy Day Before Thanksgiving!

  

   Here at the Lumen office we are excited for Turkey day tomorrow! Why? Well of course we are happy to stuff our faces and fill our bellies with delicious food. :)

Meet Nick and Matt

    Today we were blessed to have 3 volunteers to help with our mailing. Visiting us for the first time to volunteer was Nick and Matt Kuhlman. David, our devoted volunteer was here as well! They were great sports for volunteering their time and Nicol paid them with Cuban Coffee. We weren't sure if Nick and Matt would like it seeing they are not coffee drinkers, BUT it was a success! It was fun having them up here for a little bit. Please keep our mailing in your prayers!

    Tomorrow as we all are gathering with family and friends and continuing with family tradition, we have so much to be thankful for in our lives. At Lumen we are thankful for all who read our blogs, all who support us spiritually and/or financially, to have an office to come to, all of our animators and those who are helping us with the project.
