The last 3 days have been filled with many Blessings and much Joy!  We were blessed with the opportunity to have a table at the National Right to Life Convention 2011 in Jacksonville, FL. We met new people from all over America and shared with them the new trailer of Skiff and AJ's Fantastic Voyage. We also had the opportunity to meet and talk with Fr. Frank Pavone, Michelle Oden, Abby Johnson, Jamie Thietten, Herman Cain, Rick Santurm, and Norma Mcorvey.

Who is Going?

     This year we are blessed to have a table at the National Right to Life Conference in Jacksonville, FL. We have the opportunity to introduce Lumen Entertainment and Skiff and AJ's Fantastic Voyage to about 1,000 people! Skiff and AJ are really excited to share the new trailer for their movie. If you are going to be there stop by the Lumen Entertainment booth and say hi, we would all like to meet you :)

    We are sad to say that Super Nerd was silenced by Youtube after we had posted it. Just kidding... well we had to take the movie off due to having copy right issues with our sound track in the movie. We are in the process re-doing the soundtrack, so that way the movie will be available for your viewing pleasure.

   Speaking of film camp... Don't forget this years film camp is July 8-17th, themed "Actions Speak LOUDER" Space is limited and it is just around the corner. Cafe, Movie, Mercy...not in that order

First, God is merciful. We have now received  $30,686 toward the matching funds! Thank you, thank you, thank you! We are almost there. Only $19,314 to go. 13 days left to have your donation matched. Keep spreading the word.

Second, Film Camp 2010.  It brings me great Joy to see how the students persevered to get their film done.  BUT YOUTUBE just canceled our 6hr download.  So we will try again over the weekend.  My apologies.

Third, Cafe Cubano Style:  Was it G.K. Chesterton that said, "anything that is worth doing is worth doing poorly." Well to satisfy Chesterton, here is the basic overview of making cafe cubano.  To satisfy what St. Francis of Assisi said,"Let us be Extravagant for the Lord." we will start to unpack they mystery of good cafe in later posts.

Start with the end in mind.  Now repeat after me.  "I'm smart enough, I'm good enough, and I can make great cafe." Repeat x 3

First fill the basin with water up to the pressure valve.

Yep, amazing you can see it from the outside too.

Then insert the metal coffee filter.  Please don't even think of trying to cut a paper filter to fit.  Bad Idea.

Now fill it up with espresso ground coffee.

Lightly (very lightly) pack the grounds.  There will be future post on this step.  "Ya Can't Rush ART!"

Now screw on the top. Tight.

Oh, yeah turn on the heat.  This will need future posts too.

If you're going to make the ultimate spumita (the summit of great cafe) keep the top open to watch for the first bit of coffee to bubble out.  This might take some time so go get a cup of coffee and be patient.  From this point on you've gotta be on your game.  You're gonna need more focus that Huston during a NASA launch.

The Spumita

Books have been written debates have turned into fist fights over how to make the best spumita.  This is what separates the men from the boys.  My head swims when i think of trying to explain this in one post.  It can't be done!  

For now attempt the following.  Assuming you got the 4 servings size espresso maker, when the first teaspoon of cafe comes out mix it with 6 teaspoons of sugar in at least a  2 cup measuring cup.  And mix it and beat it and whip it like your swimming from a shark!  Yeah that's big time, but its one of the secrets.  Then once the rest of the cafe is brewed pour it in with the sugar, stir and serve.  ENJOY.  I can see it already we are going to have to do videos to help explain this...

98 Degrees Monday...

Yikes! It's Sunny & 98 Degrees here in 904(Jacksonville, FL)! As soon as you step outside you can feel the humidity smack you in the face and you need your shades on, just like Pope Benedict has on in the picture to the right!
Thank God that Willis Haviland on July 2, 1902 in Buffalo, New York invented Air Conditioner! We are praising God here in the office for the AC :)

Not a Manic Monday Here

It's not a Manic Monday here in the Lumen office! The office this morning was filled with laughter to kick the work week off as we watched this video. Take some time to check it out... for such a young kid he has a great message! On a side note, we received $600 today in donations to our $50k Cartoon in June matching program! Two Thumbs up and Rock and Roll this week.

Our Benefactors EXTENED the $50k Match in May to $50k Cartoon in June! The Matching Program will last till June 30^th! So far, we have received $21,000 of the $50,000 match. The $50,000 match runs out June 30, 2011! Your financial support will be matched $1 for $1.

We are on the verge of completion but can’t finish without your help. 

We also received the news that The Knights of Columbus of California and Maryland passed a resolution to distribute our animation to their respective Catholic school/CCD children!    

Please help us evangelize the children. We will have it ready for the school year, but it will only be possible with your donations and prayers.  Your money will be doubled, so there is no better time to give.

Welcome to Lumen Entertainments Blog! Lumen Entertainment is a Catholic ministry using the media to educate the youth and families about Jesus and the Catholic Church. We offer a variety of exciting, yet educational media for children which cover subjects from the sacraments to the saints. Also, we are in the process of finishing an Animated Pro-life movie, called Skiff and AJ’s Fantastic Voyage. The children will follow Skiff and AJ in their adventure as they meet a baby in the womb!  The purpose of the show is to instill in children about the value of life. Animators who have worked on the blockbusters by world renowned studios such as Pixar, Disney, DreamWorks, and Big Idea are now lending their talent to teach about the sanctity of life.
